With Cincinnati’s inaugural WordCamp only two weeks away and our full schedule now available, we hope that you’re as excited as we are to learn and connect with other passionate members of the local WordPress community in the very near future. Over the past several weeks, we’ve introduced you to the speakers and sponsors you can expect to hear, share, and benefit from during the two-day event. Today we’re happy to introduce the last of the speakers and sponsors that you can expect to meet at WordCamp.
Speaker Announcements
David Brattoli, “Varying WordPress Local Development Environment”. I have worked in web industry for the past 9 years. I have been running my own web and graphic design company “Infinite Reality LLC” since 2007 and have been working in higher education for the last three years. I have been working exclusively with WordPress since 2012. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Bluffton University and Associate degrees in Graphic and Web Design and Gaming and Simulation Design from Lorain County Community College. I am also self-taught in a host of different coding languages and have integrated my mathematics, graphic, and web design skills to accomplish whatever web design tasks I have needed to solve. Utilizing this knowledge allows me to give my clients a powerful and unique set of websites for industry, government, education, and learning environments.
Jared Banz, “Local SEO – How Small Businesses Can Compete In Google”. Jared Banz was first exposed to search engine optimization and WordPress upon graduating from college in 2010. Since then, Jared started a digital marketing agency called SumoLeap, where he serves clients for small and mid-sized businesses. When not drinking way too much coffee and reading about the latest marketing trends, Jared enjoys traveling with his wife Linnea.
Teresa Nichols, “SEO on WordPress Websites”. One of my first my managers, while I was an associate at Little Professor Book store, told me whenever someone came in and asked for a book, I should take them to the shelf, find the book and put it in his/her hand. This instruction made a serious impression on me. Since then, I realized the difference between “good customer service” and “excellent customer service.” In a world of “user-generated” content, customer service is even more impactful than it was back then. A solid website will answer every question and lead a visitors to convert…happily. My passion for excellent customer service has lead me to a career in online marketing with a focus on Search Engine Optimization. My goal is always to put the product in the customer’s hands.
Andrea Middleton, “Stronger Together: How WordPress Communities are Built”. Andrea Middleton has worked at WordCamp Central since 2011, supporting WordPress community organizers and helping folks plan WordCamps that inspire people to do more with WordPress, connect the WordPress community, and contribute to the WordPress project. Andrea went to high school in Dayton (Go T-bolts!) and now lives in Portland, Oregon with her husband and two small kids.
Caitlin Cheevers, “Blog on a Budget: How to Utilize Free and Low-Cost Plugins to Grow Your Blog without Breaking the Bank”. Caitlin is a proud feminist who helps women start their own blogs and businesses by making the intimidating aspects of web and graphic design easy to digest. In addition to sharing free tutorials each week, Caitlin has launched an ecourse, the InDesign Adventure Guide, that teaches you how use InDesign to grow your blog or business. Originally hailing from Michigan, she set aside her inherent distaste of Ohio and moved to Cincinnati with her fiance, their dog Stanley, and their cat Val.
Stefan C. Densmore, “Multisite Development: Configurations, Uses, & SSL Implications”. I own a local web hosting company that provides managed Green WordPress and Green cPanel options for companies interested in divesting from fossils fuels. I also provide leadership for the ongoing development and maintenance of three multisite networks. I’ve been involved in WordPress development since 2003, and a continuous member of WPMUDEV since 2011. My formal education is in Human Factors Engineering & Psychology, and I have a Masters of Science in Organizational Leadership. My wife and I are passionate about domestic and international social justice issues. We’ve been vegetarian for over 13 years, enjoy working in our garden, camping, and nature walks with our 4 young children. I’m playfully competitive in running, soccer, and triathlons. I competed in the 2009 Louisville Ironman and have coached soccer teams and marathon training groups for local and national organizations. My nerdier interests include collecting vintage Star Wars figures, vehicles and play sets, as well as trading cards and comics.
Aaron Forgue, “Subscriptions and Memberships with WooCommerce”. Aaron Forgue is the Co-Founder of Pressbuilt, a company focused on WordPress strategy, development and support. He has been immersed in web development using open source technologies like PHP and WordPress for over 20 years. Aaron is also a co-organizer and frequent speaker at the local Cincinnati WordPress Meetup group.
Thanks To Our Sponsors
The success of WordCamp events worldwide would not be possible if not for the sponsors who generously donate their time and resources. Today we thank Cybervise for their support of the WordPress community.
Cybervise is a website maintenance firm that works with businesses who have an existing website and need help with on-going website tasks. We offer pay-per-request services, fixed-bid projects and re-occuring Maintenance Plans (including discounts for annual payments). Our Website Maintenance Services can be used for website updates, technical support, strategic consulting or digital marketing support. The majority of our Maintenance clients are currently operating websites based on the WordPress platform. We have special WordPress Maintenance Packages to help with technical support and security. However, if your website was built on another platform or you still have an html-based website, we can handle that too.
