Should you be traveling to Cincinnati from out of town for the WordCamp in October, you may be starting to consider accommodations for the weekend of your stay. We have an entire section of the website dedicated to travel advice, including a list of recommended hotels detailing convenient and/or unique hotels around the venue and in Cincinnati.
Of note, we have arranged special room pricing with Hampton Inn located just off the university’s campus. To receive the discounted rate, you will need to book your reservation using the link below:
Click here to book your room and get the discounted rate through the Hampton Inn website
Many of the other recommended hotels on the list are similarly located close to campus. Both the Hampton Inn and Fairfield Inn & Suites are a short 10 minute walk from the hotel to the venue location at the Tangeman University Center. If you choose to stay at a hotel further away from campus, there is convenient parking located adjacent the venue. Detailed information about parking will be announced in a future post, so be sure to subscribe for updates!
Speaker Announcements
In the coming weeks leading up to the event in October, we will be introducing a few speakers at a time right here on this blog. We are excited to announce our next few speakers:
Danny Santoro, “Not Just for Blogging: Using WordPress to Build an Online Tabletop Game”. Danny Santoro is a late twenty-something Cincinnati native who has been working with WordPress for around four years now. Out of school, he ran marketing and web strategy for some major international brands before leaving to start his own freelance company, which continues today. In the past two and a half years, he’s been working at WooThemes and then Automattic for their WooCommerce division. Aside from code, he went to school to make movies (which he still likes to do) and in general likes to get into trouble. He promises he’ll behave at this one. 🙂
Andrea Fuggetta, “(Php)Storming WordPress – A remote debugging experience”. Andrea is a senior software engineer at Ndevr, Inc, a distributed WordPress development company. His interest for programming started at a young age, when his father bought him an Amstrad computer coming with a huge BASIC manual, and the sleepless nights began. During his experience as a developer he helped building successful sites for client such as Bloomberg, Time Inc., New York Times, Hearst and others. Amongst his many hobbies you will find snowboarding, building IoT devices with Arduino, playing the guitar and spending time with his wife and newborn son.
Keanan Koppenhaver, “Customizing WP-Admin for Your Clients Using Advanced Custom Fields (ACF)”. Keanan Koppenhaver is a Digital Product Developer and Consulting Engineer with doejo, a WordPress VIP Partner Agency. In that time, he has worked on baking WordPress into the publishing workflow of one of the largest investment news publications in the United States, a WordPress-backed real estate investment portal, and many other projects large and small. He is passionate about mentoring other developers as well as teaching people that WordPress can be more than just a blogging platform. Keanan writes about all these topics and more at http://levelupwp.net.
